1. Summary
Moorion is designed so that core boating data is stored locally on your device. Routes, voyage history, logbook entries, anchor positions, vessel profile, map screenshots, PDF exports, and similar app data are not sent to our server by default.
Some data may still be processed off device when you use subscriptions, maps, crash reporting, attribution, analytics, App Store services, support, bug reports, or third-party SDKs. If you send a bug report or support email, the information you choose to send will leave your device.
2. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The following data may be stored locally in CoreData, UserDefaults, or device storage:
- profile information such as name, email, and avatar;
- vessel information such as vessel name, vessel model, draft, and average speed;
- routes created from user-selected points;
- voyage tracking history and logbook entries;
- anchor alarm positions and related anchor records;
- map snapshots, screenshots, PDF exports, and attachments you create;
- app preferences, measurement units, permissions state, onboarding state, and subscription entitlement cache.
This local data remains on your device unless you choose to export, share, attach, or send it. Deleting Moorion may delete local data. The in-app delete account/data action erases local CoreData app data.
3. Data We May Collect or Receive
Support and Bug Reports
If you contact support or submit a bug report, we may receive:
- your email address;
- your message and support history;
- attachments, screenshots, PDFs, logs, or other files you choose to include;
- device model;
- iOS version;
- app version;
- language, region, and permission status;
- RevenueCat app user ID or subscription diagnostic identifiers;
- crash or diagnostic context related to the issue.
Bug report attachments may include location, routes, logbook details, vessel information, screenshots, or other personal data if you choose to include them.
Purchases and Subscriptions
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your full payment card details. Through Apple and RevenueCat, we may process subscription-related information such as:
- product purchased;
- trial status;
- renewal status;
- entitlement status;
- transaction, receipt, and subscription identifiers;
- App Store country or storefront;
- RevenueCat app user ID and attribution identifiers used to manage access and support.
Maps and Location
Moorion uses location permissions for app features such as showing your position, voyage tracking, route context, and anchor alarm. Precise location history generated by voyage tracking and anchor alarm is stored locally on your device.
When you use map features, Mapbox and related map services may process technical information necessary to provide maps, such as IP address, device and app information, map requests, and location-related information depending on SDK configuration, permissions, and feature use.
Crash Reporting, Remote Config, and App Security
Moorion uses Firebase / Google services for crash reporting, app security, remote configuration, and app content infrastructure. These services may process:
- crash logs and diagnostic data;
- device model, operating system, app version, installation identifiers, and timestamps;
- App Check or security signals;
- remote configuration fetches;
- quiz content and related app content delivery data.
We do not store Moorion user profile, route, logbook, or vessel data in Firebase.
Attribution and Analytics
Moorion uses AppsFlyer for install attribution, advertising measurement, deep links, and campaign performance. Moorion uses Amplitude for product analytics, funnel analysis, retention analysis, and feature usage.
Depending on your consent, device settings, SDK behavior, and applicable law, attribution and analytics data may include:
- app install and session events;
- advertising identifiers, if permitted by App Tracking Transparency;
- device identifiers or vendor identifiers;
- campaign, referral, and deep link data;
- subscription attribution identifiers;
- product events such as onboarding progress, quiz events, paywall views, map sessions, anchor alarm creation, and feature usage;
- device model, operating system, app version, country or region, language, and timestamps.
We do not send precise voyage tracks, anchor positions, full route geometry, logbook content, or vessel profile fields to Amplitude.
Website Data and Cookies
Moorion's website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, measure performance, understand traffic, and support marketing. These may include necessary cookies, analytics cookies, and marketing cookies. Where required, we provide cookie notices and choices.

- purchase and subscription records: as long as needed for subscription access, support, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, disputes, legal compliance, and App Store records.
Aggregated or de-identified data may be retained longer where it no longer identifies you.
10. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, port, or withdraw consent for your personal data. You may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.
For privacy requests, contact support@moorion.com.
If your request concerns data held by Apple, such as App Store payment information, you may need to contact Apple or manage your Apple account directly.
If your request concerns local-only data stored on your device, you can delete it in the app, use the in-app delete account/data action, or uninstall the app. We may not be able to access or delete data that never left your device.
